Kelly Stafford earned the wrath of some Swifties after she discussed Taylor Swift on a recent episode of her podcast.

Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, said she was “tired” of all the attention Swift, 35, was receiving during NFL broadcasts on a November 2024 episode of her “Morning After” podcast. “It was a good business decision for the NFL, but I almost felt like it was outshining the games,” Kelly said. “And that’s what bothered me.”

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Kelly — who has professed her love of Swift’s music and took her four daughters to the “Eras Tour” in October 2024 — recalled the backlash she received from fans of the pop star.

“Honestly, I did get a lot of heat from them,” said Kelly, who spoke to Us via her Sleep Number partnership. “I was like, ‘Whoa, I love Taylor.’”

Still, Kelly gave some additional context to where her level of Swift fatigue was stemming from.

“When you’re constantly seeing someone on your social media every scroll, you kind of lose that love, you know?” Kelly explained. “That’s what I was saying. I was like, ‘I’m seeing her every second, I’m never wondering about what she’s doing.’”

With that being said, Kelly still thinks Swift should be shown on camera during the Super Bowl LIX broadcast on Sunday, February 9, when Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

“For sure you show her,” Kelly said. “She’s doing the same thing I’m doing or [wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes] Brittany Mahomes is doing. She’s there supporting the man that she loves. If you’re gonna show families, you’re gonna show family. She is Travis Kelce’s family. So you’re definitely going to show her.”

When she’s not being flooded by angry Swifties, Kelly recently opened up on her podcast about how negative remarks about her looks have taken a negative toll on her mental health.

NFL players rely on their linemen to protect them on the field. Off of it, it’s their wives and girlfriends who have stepped up to clap back when fans have gotten out of line. That includes some of the most famous WAGs in the league today. Kylie Kelce, wife of former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason […]

“Comments that are mean, they hurt my feelings,” Kelly told Us. “I have feelings and I’m not going to sit here and act like I don’t. I’ve tried to develop some thick skin to understand what my values are and sticking to those regardless of what people say about me.”

Kelly added, “It’s scary because, even as an adult, my self-confidence is intertwined with people that are commenting who don’t even know me.”

Luckily, Kelly can drown out the social media haters in her customizable Sleep Number bed — which comes in handy thanks to the different habits of her and her football star husband.

“He likes to be cold and on a firm type of bed, while I like to be surrounded by a cloud and warm and comfy,” Kelly explained. “The Sleep Number bed allows us to do that. We can sit up, we can lay down, we can do it at different times. Especially during the [NFL] season, he’s in bed and asleep at eight o’clock because he’s getting up at five [a.m.]. Meanwhile, I’m still up cleaning the house, doing what I need to do.”
