Amanda Seyfried Recalls 'Boobs Falling Out' in Front of Glen Powell

Amanda Seyfried has advice for anyone experiencing a wardrobe malfunction: make sure Glen Powell is involved.

In an interview with People published on Sunday, March 9, Seyfried said that she had a potentially mortifying experience at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards when “my boobs fell out of my dress.”

“I was wearing this amazing vintage dress. I made my stylist dress up in it before I went just for fun,” she told the publication (Seyfried was donning a Dior Haute Couture gown for the star-studded occasion).

The dress was “kind of sewn together,” she explained, but “started truly falling apart” during the event.,. Before she knew it, the gown was “literally falling off of me on the red carpet, and I think there were even interviews where I’m saying it’s breaking off,” the actress added.

As if! Amanda Seyfried channeled her inner Cher Horowitz during an appearance on Good Morning America. The Mean Girls star, 37, appeared on the Tuesday, May 30, episode of GMA — the same day that Elizabeth Holmes, the real-life counterpart to her Dropout character, reported to prison. As Seyfried promoted her new thriller, The Crowded […]

Seyfried and Powell were in mid-conversation when the dress lost the plot completely. “I was talking to Glen Powell in the corner near my table, and we were joking around about something and I lifted my arms up, and my boobs were just out. My dress fell apart,” she said.

Luckily, Powell stepped in to save the day. “We both screamed, and like the gentleman he is, he covered me,” Seyfried continued. “He didn’t look… I think. None of us were expecting that, but that dress had truly just given up.”

Last week, Seyfried impressed viewers and the studio audience at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when she pulled out a dulcimer and played Joni Mitchell’s “California” in a nearly perfect rendition of the beloved song.

The wooden instrument is played across the lap and was first used in the Appalachians back in the 19t century, which makes Seyfried’s skill all the more impressive. “We always have a dulcimer here in case we have anyone that plays the dulcimer,” Fallon joked.

Seyfried’s performance prompted calls from fans for the actress to play Mitchell in a biopic. The Canadian-American singer-songwriter and painter rose to prominence in the 1960s and is considered one of the most influential artists of the time period. She has won 11 Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

While there’s no word on whether or not such a biopic is in the works, Seyfried has four projects on her slate: the TV series Long Bright River and movies The Housemaid, Ann Lee, and My Ex-Friend’s Wedding.

Long Bright River will debut on Peacock on March 13. The series is focused on the opioid crisis, something Seyfried told The Hollywood Reporter in a March 7 interview is “smart” because “why make TV if we’re not stepping in other people’s shoes?” She added, “You always just hope that people want to see it. I’m worried people don’t have Peacock.”
