Cheryl Burke is getting candid about her dating life — or lack thereof.
When asked on the Thursday, February 13, episode of the “I Do Part 2” podcast when the last time she went on a date was, Burke, 40, replied, “I don’t know, I mean, I can check my calendar.”
Burke clarified that it had “for sure” been over a year since her last date, explaining it was when she was “just moving.” After Burke said she has “zero interest” and doesn’t “even try” dating, she weighed in on whether she still looks for guys when she’s out and about.
“Of course, I still think guys are hot. That doesn’t mean that they deserve me,” Burke said, adding that “old, creepy” guys are sliding into her DMs.
The Dancing With the Stars alum also opened up about her decision to choose celibacy following her divorce from Matthew Lawrence, noting that because she’s “not dating” and “not even texting” anyone, it “comes natural.” (Burke dated Lawrence, 45, on and off for several years before exchanging vows in 2019. Us Weekly confirmed in February 2022 that Burke filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. The pair finalized their divorce in September 2022.)
“Back in the day when I would have casual, maybe, relationships or intimacy, it really just continued to chip away at my soul because at the end of the day, that says a lot about me,” Burke said, noting that she doesn’t think she’s “ever” had an emotional connection with someone she was physically intimate with.

Burke clarified that she wasn’t referring to one particular ex and said she doesn’t think she has been “vulnerable” because of the sexual abuse she faced as a child. (Burke previously shared that she testified in court at age 9 against a caretaker who sexually abused her and her stepsister.)
“So, for me, certain things are very intimate that I don’t do — and I’m talking about physical things — unless I am one hundred percent feeling safe, which is very rare,” Burke continued. “I don’t remember the last time that happened, actually.”
Burke previously told Us that she has no intentions of getting back in the saddle or joining a dating app in the future — or ever.
“Never say never, but I have no plans of joining a dating app, and nor do I ever think or see myself looking,” she told Us in September 2024. “Even though I need to be better at leaving my house, I still live like a hermit sometimes, but I think it will happen when it happens. When my energy shifts, then I know if it does happen, I’m ready. I’m not in a rush.”
