Elizabeth Hurley likes to be organized — especially on a big night like the Oscars.

While attending Elton John’s star-studded 2025 Oscars viewing and after-party on Sunday, March 2, the actress exclusively told Us Weekly that when it comes to awards season she “can’t stand being late and panicked.”

“I don’t like trying things on at the last minute,” she told Us. “I don’t like not knowing what jewelry I’m wearing. I’m just not very good at that. I never have been, ever since I was a kid.”

Instead of preparing for Hollywood’s biggest night at the last minute, Hurley 59, told Us she likes “lining everything up” and “having plenty of time” to get ready before she walks out the door.

There are some style moments that will forever have Us swooning — one of them being Elizabeth Hurley’s iconic Versace safety pin dress. The now 58-year-old actress made fashion history when she donned the daring garment at the 1994 premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral with then-boyfriend Hugh Grant. “My father was in the Army and he was really strict about time always,” she explained. So I have it down.”

While preparing for an event as massive as the Oscars can be stressful, Hurley told Us that John’s party is “such a big thing” and clearly worth the extra work.

“It’s such a big thing in our calendar, to come to Elton’s events every year,” she said. “It’s something we really think about and we really relish the moments of getting ready for this because, you know, tonight’s the night we hope that Elton wins an Oscar and brings it here.”

This year, John, 77, was nominated for his song “Never Too Late” from the Disney+ documentary by the same name.

Hurley attended the event with her son Damian, 22, who she said is “obsessed with Demi Moore.” And though Hurley said she’s also a fan of Moore’s hit movie The Substance, “I also really loved Emelia Perez. There’s so many performances that I loved. And I thought that film was staggering.”

“So, you know, Anora was also something I really enjoyed,” Hurley continued. “So, it’s gonna be really interesting to see who wins. Particularly amongst the ladies, I think. Because there’s great leading actress nominations.”

It seems the Academy agreed — Anora took home 5 Oscars at the awards ceremony on March 2, including Best Picture and Best Actress.

Hurley also opened up about how she finds happiness, especially in an increasingly hectic world. “I’d like to be in my own country house at home, but even if I go to somebody else’s, like in America and I go somewhere, I like nature,” she explained. “I really like getting outta cities when I’m feeling a bit, you know, that revs me up again.”
