Fans Notice Rachel Zegler Leaves Gal Gadot Out of Snow White Tribute

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Rachel Zegler’s tribute to her Snow White cast and crew did not include her costar Gal Gadot.

“This movie was a life-changing experience that has held about four years of my career,” Zegler, 23, wrote via Instagram on Friday, March 21, alongside multiple behind-the-scenes moments from the set of Snow White. “The growing up you do from the age of twenty (when I was cast) to twenty-three (the age I am now) cannot be accurately described, yet they exist here on film forever.”

In the carousel of 19 images, Zegler included shots of her donning Snow White’s signature princess dress and moments with many of her costars and production staff. Out of all the pictures chosen, Gadot was not featured in any of the snaps.

“I became a real adult during the course of this film — learned hard lessons, did hard things, laughed, cried, turned 21, lived across the ocean from my family, made new friends, and completely fell in love with this group of people I got to work with for three magical summers in London,” she continued. “We had the greatest crew in the world on this movie. It cannot be overstated. This photo dump doesn’t even dig into the fun, the magic, and the love that was shared throughout this process. But it’s a start.”

Zegler portrays the titular character in the live action adaptation of the Disney classic. Gadot plays the infamous villain, Snow White’s stepmother the Evil Queen.

Snow White has gathered multiple controversies long before it hit theaters. When Zegler was cast as the princess, trolls made their disdain heard as they complained that the actress is Latina — similarly to how many reacted to Halle Bailey’s casting in The Little Mermaid. Zegler also received pushback for her remarks about wanting to update the tale because the prince “literally stalks Snow White.”

Gadot, for her part, received backlash after she voiced her support for Israel, which led some to boycott the film.

Disney ultimately decided to scale back the premiere amid the controversies. Coverage was limited to photographers and a house crew. The event included a pre-party and screening.
