Gervonta Davis says he’s willing to fight Ryan Garcia, Vasily Lomachenko or Shakur Stevenson after he defeats Lamont Roach this Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Ryan Garcia is the best of the three in terms of the money Tank Davis can make. He’s a lot more popular than Shakur and Lomachenko, and the two have already fought two years ago. That was Tank’s biggest career payday. However, Garcia’s schedule in 2025 is booked solid with fights against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero on May 2nd, and a rematch with Devin Haney in October.

Garcia, Loma, Shakur

WBA lightweight champion Tank Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) states that he can’t choose a particular name out of those three that he would like to fight next, but he feels all of them would be “big” fights. Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has seemed desperate for Tank to face Shakur next, and he’s expected to keep pushing.

IBF champion Vasily Lomachenko would be an easy one to make, but his situation is uncertain. He may retire rather than continue fighting.

Stephen A. Smith: “Why this fight, Lamont Roach? What has he done to deserve to be in the ring with you? You got Ryan Garcia saying when he gets back in the ring, he wants you. You got Lomachenko, who people are talking about should be in the ring with you. Of course, Shakur Stevenson.

“A lot of people are talking about him and whether you’re going to fight him down the road. What do you see in terms of in the ring, who you will go up in against, assuming you win on Saturday night, which most people assume will happen. Who do you see yourself in a big fight going up against, the marquee fight for you?”

Gervonta Davis: “All those guys. It’s not one specific name I would say. Me sharing the ring with all those guys would be big. He’s a world champion himself. He’s coming up in weight and daring to be great. We fought before. So, it’s history in that. It’s two guys trying to be great.”

Smith: “A lot of people talk about your background and how familiar you are with one another. How well do you know him on a personal level in terms of your association through the ranks in terms of your boxing careers?”

Tank Davis: “Through boxing, we came up together. We had similar friends in the boxing world. We fought before. So, I’m familiar with his fighting style. It’s been years since I fought him. So, I don’t know, but it’s cool that I have someone from that area. I’m from Baltimore [and he’s from Maryland]. It’s cool that we both get in the ring and share the ring on a pro level.”
