Colton Underwood and husband Jordan C. Brown aren’t newlyweds, but that doesn’t mean the honeymoon is over.
“The honeymoon phase evolves and changes,” Underwood, 33, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending the Human Rights Campaign Gala at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 22.
Underwood married Brown, 42, in May 2023. The couple went on to welcome their first baby, son Bishop, via surrogate in September 2024, which has only added to their “honeymoon phase.”
“Watching Jordan be a dad right now is, like, the coolest, sexiest, fun thing ever,” the former Bachelor gushed. “I can’t get enough of it. Seeing him in an all-new light, you know, getting to work with him as a team and raising our child is incredible.”
The reality star has also learned a few things about himself since becoming a parent.
“I never really could have understood the connection that, you know, fathers and sons could have … until he was born, until I held him, until I woke up at 3:00 a.m. with him and had to give him a bottle,” Underwood said. “It’s an honor to be his dad.”
After six months with Bishop, Underwood said his family is celebrating new aspects of parenthood every day.
“He’s rolling over. He got on his knees today, like, he’s learning how to crawl,” the proud father shared. “We started him on solid [foods] last week. I feel like every week right now there’s a new milestone, a new journey.”
Underwood confessed, “I want him to slow down. It’s great that he’s hitting all these milestones, but I’m, like, time is flying. What is happening?”
Although Underwood and Brown are busy with their little one, the TV personality told Us that they “for sure” want another baby at some point.
“I definitely want him [to have a sibling] and I could see him being a brother in the future,” he added.
Fans met Underwood during season 14 of The Bachelorette when he competed for Becca Kurfin’s heart. Underwood then became the show’s lead for season 23 of the flagship series.
During The Bachelor finale, Underwood gave Cassie Randolph his final rose, but they didn’t get engaged. The pair split in May 2020 after nearly two years of dating.
Less than one year later, Underwood publicly came out as gay during an appearance on Good Morning America.
“I’ve ran from myself for a long time, I’ve hated myself for a long time,” Underwood revealed in April 2021. “I’m gay. I came to terms with that earlier this year, and the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know. … I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life. That means the world to me.”
Underwood and Brown went public with their relationship in September 2021 and got engaged in February 2022. The pair said “I do” during a May 2023 ceremony in Napa Valley, California.
After welcoming their son the following year, the couple revealed via Instagram, “Our world is a million times better.”
