I’m not the only one that’s still reeling from The White Lotus finale, right? I won’t stop thinking about the ending until the next season drops. But honestly, I can’t complain. Season three gave Us a lot to think about, from the destination to the location and even the makeup.
That last one might seem a little odd, but I’ve been mesmerized by the makeup on The White Lotus since the premiere. The show was filmed in hot, humid Thailand, and if you regularly wear makeup, you’ll know that there are few makeup formulas that won’t melt when exposed to that climate — especially mascara. However, the show’s makeup artists swore by Make Beauty Lash Prototype Mascara throughout filming for its ability to add volume and length without smudging, no matter how muggy the weather got.

I may not be located in a tropical location, but New York City’s subway system can get pretty stifling, and I needed to know just how well this mascara held up. What can I say? I’m a self-proclaimed mascara snob. I’ve pretty much made it my mission to see if every mascara lives up to the hype. So, over the past month, I’ve worn Lash Prototype to see how it holds up in daily life and sweaty activities. I must say, I’m impressed.
I’m very particular about my mascara — I want it to make my lashes look fake, as if I’m wearing falsies. From the first swipe, Lash Prototype produced some seriously glam results. The slim wand effortlessly defined, volumized, and lengthened every lash, creating an elegant fanned-out effect. While some volumizing mascaras can be clumpy, this kept things wispy and delicate. I find the results strike a solid balance between wow-worthy and just enough.
I know mascara is good when other people comment on my lashes, and the compliments rolled in on the days I wore this. I loved telling people that it was the same mascara used on The White Lotus.
Now, I’d be remiss if I didn’t test the longevity and anti-humidity claims (that is this product’s claim to fame, after all!). To truly push this mascara’s durability to the limit, I wore it to SLT Tread, a hybrid class where you spend half the time sprinting uphill on the treadmill and the other half on the pilates reformer. In this class, things get really sweaty, really fast.
To my surprise, even though I was completely drenched at the end of class, my lashes still looked flawless. The mascara didn’t flake, smudge, or run, even as sweat was pouring down my face. The only thought running through my mind? “What is this sorcery?”
I completely understand why this was the cast’s go-to while filming — and it’s quickly become mine too. I know that regardless of how hot the weather gets this year, my lashes will look fabulous thanks to the Make Beauty Lash Prototype Mascara.
