Ryan Garcia showed off his lethal left hook to former British super middleweight contender Rocky Fielding, revealing how difficult it is to avoid that shot. He’s worked on that punch since he was a kid, developing it into a weapon that can be used at any distance.
The Left Hook Legacy
That’s how Ryan defeated Devin Haney, who tried to neutralize his left hook by getting in close. Repeatedly, Garcia nailed Devin with short left hooks thrown lightning fast and with huge power. Ryan was hurting Haney at will from the seventh round, making it look easy.
Kingry’s next opponent, Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, will need to figure out how to keep from getting hit with his left hook in their welterweight headliner on May 2nd on the Fatal Fury card at Times Square in NYC. Unless Rolly has improved in the chin department, he won’t last more than two or three rounds against Garcia, especially if he rushes him like he typically does with his opponents.
Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) brought former two-division world champion Haney to heel with his left hook alone in their previous fight on April 20th. Haney had been viewed as the #1 fighter at 140, and the next superstar. Now, he’s viewed by many fans as a hype job after that beat down. It’s not that Devin wasn’t as good as people thought. It was Ryan’s left hook. No one can take that kind of punch without being reduced to meteor dust.

Ryan wants to perform great, given that he’s headlining on Turki Alalshikh’s card on May 2nd. He’s going to be looking to make short work of Rolly, because there are two other excellent fights on the undercard. It’s important that Garcia performs the best to increase his starpower with fans.
Undercard Fights on May 2nd, Fatal Fury
– Devin Haney vs. Jose Ramirez – Co-feature
– Teofimo Lopez vs. Arnold Barboza Jr. – First fight of the night
Henry’s Prediction
“You’re going to see a new Ryan, and you’re going to see that left hook with lightning speed,” said Henry Garcia to the media about his son, Ryan Garcia, to be improved for his fight against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero on May 2nd at Times Square in New York City. “Maybe the right,” said Henry when asked if Ryan will knock out Rolly with a left hook.
