Meghan Markle made her Instagram Story debut under her new account on Saturday, February 8 — and she did it in a big way.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared a series of photos from the 2025 Invictus Games’ opening day. The first featured Prince Harry, 40, and a slew of athletes smiling and posing for a group photo. That Story was followed by one of Meghan speaking to a participant in the Games. She then shared a funny Story set to “Dancing With Myself” that showed Harry dancing in front of the group.

Those first photos and videos were followed by more heartfelt photos of the pair each hugging participants in the Games, as well as a video of Meghan posing with Team USA.
The pair will officially open up the Invictus Games Saturday night. Chris Martin, Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, and Roxane Bruneau are all slated to perform.
Meghan returned to the social media platform on January 1, 2025, nearly five years after she and the Duke of Sussex wrote their last post on the @royalsussex account.
“As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile. Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line—together we can lift each other up to realize the fullness of that promise,” the two wrote in March 2020.
“While you may not see us here, the work continues. Thank you to this community — for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great! Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another,” they added.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke to attendees and their families on Friday, February 7 at the welcome event for the Invictus Games. “Well, hello, you. Hi, everybody. How are we feeling?” Meghan began her unplanned speech. “So, I was not planning on speaking tonight and we just arrived a couple hours ago. I touched Canadian soil and I was like, ‘Ah, feels like home.’ We are so excited.”
Meghan previously lived in Toronto for several years while filming the hit TV series Suits. This year’s Invictus Games are being held in Vancouver, Canada.
Harry founded the Games in 2014 as a way to support wounded veterans. He previously served 10 years in the British Army.
