Pedro Pascal is sharing his honest reaction to his wild coffee order going viral.
The Last of Us star, 49, made headlines in March 2023 when a social media video of him greeting a fan outside Starbucks inadvertently revealed his morning order. The label on Pascal’s venti coffee cup showed that he had ordered an iced quad espresso with extra ice and six shots of espresso. (The average shot of espresso contains around 63-64 milligrams of caffeine.)
Naturally, comedian Jimmy Kimmel brought up Pascal’s viral drink order on the Monday, March 24, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, which marked Pascal’s first appearance on the show in close to a decade.
“An insane order, by the way,” Kimmel quipped as he pointed to a zoomed-in picture of Pascal’s coffee order label.
A sheepish Pascal said with a laugh, “I cannot begin to tell you how violating this was!”
The actor then explained just why he begins his day with a super-sized serving of caffeine.
“There’s so much context to why it has become six shots of espresso,” the star said. “It was always a quad but then I feel like the cups got bigger and, I don’t know, the shots got less strong. At some point, it became six.”
Pascal continued, “It was an incredibly private morning ritual that I never wanted anyone to know about.”
The Mandalorian actor said he doesn’t have “more coffee for the rest of the day,” prompting Kimmel to joke, “This isn’t even coffee — this is a methaccino at this point!”
“You sip it and you get really high, and you answer emails and stuff,” Pascal added, explaining his morning routine.
Pascal’s morning coffee order was met with awe — and concern — when it went viral two years ago. Six espresso shots mean his venti drink contains roughly 380 milligrams of caffeine. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration suggests around 400 milligrams per adult per day.

“Pedro Pascal’s Starbucks Order Is Stressing Us Out,” read a headline from Elle at the time, while others joked via TikTok, “IS HE OKAY????” and “Someone check his vitals.”
