Undercard Highlights
Tonight’s Main card on DAZN at 6:30 PM ET
Austin Williams vs. Patrice Volny
Edgar Berlanga vs. Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz
Omari Jones vs. Alessio Mastronunzio
Jamaine Ortiz vs. Yomar Alamo
Ammo Williams (17-1, 12 KOs) can’t afford any slip-ups in this fight because he blew his chance to get a world title shot in his fight against Hamzah Sheeraz last year in June. He had Sheeraz hurt in the early rounds, but didn’t go for the finish against his wounded prey. Hamzah came back to stop Ammo in the 11th round.
Patrice Volny, 35, can punch, and he will be looking to press Ammo, trying to capitalize on any weaknesses that might still lurk under the surface from his knockout defeat against Hamzah.
Berlanga: Weight Drama
Super middleweight Edgar Berlanga failed to make weight on Friday, coming in 1.6 lbs over the limit at 169.6 lbs, which he blamed on being sick recently. Fans don’t believe Berlanga. They think he’s celebrating the gigantic $10 million payday he got in his one-sided loss to unified super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez, and hasn’t put in the work to keep his weight down.
