A little more than four months after these two last met, Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol had an immediate rematch, once again competing for undisputed supremacy at 175. Last time back in October, Beterbiev was awarded a 12 round majority decision to become the first undisputed light heavyweight champion in the modern 4 belt era.

The rematch happened at the same venue as their first encounter, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a fight that was streamed worldwide on DAZN.

In their first fight, Bivol got off to a better start and was generally doing better work in the first half of the fight, whereas Beterbiev finished stronger and closed out stronger on the whole. It was a tale of two fights, in some ways. The rematch, however, had a bit of a different ebb and flow this time around. Bivol again jumped out to a fast start where his superior footwork, speed, and athleticism shined. But Beterbiev started applying effective pressure earlier on this time around, and by the middle rounds of the contest, Beterbiev appeared to have the momentum on his side. But Bivol showed an exceptional reserve tank, and he was the one who was generally in control and doing better work the second half of the fight this time around.

At the end of 12 rounds of elite level action, this time Bivol was the one who was awarded a majority decision. With the victory, Bivol became the new undisputed world light heavyweight champion.
