Here we go! The biggest holiday in March isn’t the one celebrating a little green guy. It’s the one celebrating the little red guy! March 10 is MAR10 Day as in “Mario Day”. It’s right up there on the nerd calendar with May the Fourth. For MAR10 Day, Lego is offering double the rewards point across its selection of official Super Mario Lego sets. There is a ton of awesome stuff in this collaboration between Nintendo and Lego and now is a great time to pick some up for either your Nintendo-loving kid or your Nintendo-loving self.
Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi
I absolutely adore the Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set. If you have back problems like I do, Super Mario World must have been your first entry into the series when you were a kid. It introduced a generation to Mario’s new dinosaur friend of Yoshi. This 1,215-piece Lego set of Mario in his yellow cape on the back of Yoshi is just so delightful. Lego and pixel art is really a perfect pair. The full build even has a handle you can turn which simulates Yoshi’s run and you can rotate the dial to have Yoshi’s tongue pop in and out. It’s so authentic, right down to Yoshi’s weird orange arms which, yes, he really did have when he debuted in the Mario series. The Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set is available now for $130.
Mario Kart: Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo
DK comes with his kart he drove in the very best Mario Kart game, Mario Kart: Double Dash for the Nintendo GameCube. If you already have the Lego Mario, Lego Luigi, or Lego Peach from the compatible sets sold separately, you can put one of them behind the wheel while Donkey Kong hangs onto the back in true Double Dash fashion. The kart makes sound and visual effects when an interactive figure is connected to the seat. The set also includes smaller accessories like a banana peel as well as red and green shells. The shells can even be launched from the DK Jumbo kart just like in the game. Try to hit the target that comes with. You can get the Mario Kart: Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo Lego set for just $35.
Piranha Plant
Some of the most popular Lego sets for adults are the ones in its Botanical Collection. Pretty much everyone I know over 30, when you walk into their house, you’ll find a Lego flower set on their shelves or coffee table. Well this Piranha Plant is kind of like that. It is technical a Lego flower set. It’s just that this flower is based on a sentient Mario enemy that likes to bite. The 390-piece set makes for a wonderful display. It’s highly posable, it’s set in a buildable green pipe, and includes two coin elements. What are they for? You’ll have to build it to find out. The Piranha Plant Lego set can be yours for just $60.
Celebrate MAR10 Day with double rewards points on Super Mario Lego sets! Whether it’s the nostalgic Mario & Yoshi, the action-packed DK Kart, the quirky Piranha Plant, or more, now’s the best time to grab one. Level up your collection today!
